2 days to the BIG move! And some catching up on cookie posts

Needless to say the last few weeks have been very busy! I'm officially back in Maryland with just Ethan, everyone else will converge in the next 3 days.  And boy am I excited!!! I have done a few batches of cookies in the last few weeks, so I'll quick post some pics and get back to getting ready!

This batch was made for my cousins Halloween party, and she got engaged the day before!

Halloween cookies just for my boys

During the month of September I made 5 batches of cookies and only one did the boys get to taste, so this batch was just for them.  okay....I really wanted to make them too.  Halloween cookies are so much fun because you can use bright bold colors and be silly.  The owl in the pumpkin cookies are inspired by sweetsugarbelle, she is my muse =)

This is the second platter I made for Marmalade Salon and we beached it up a tad. I think the over all platter came out with a really nice mix of colors and a soft feel.   I really do need to make a tutorial one of these days....... maybe when the kids are all in school.....in 5 years =)

Next up.....Halloween!

For this set even my dad got involved!  We had fun figuring out how to make the cookie shapes I needed out of the ones I have.  Not to mention I have a fair bit of cutter in storage in Maryland!  We had to improvise on the bow tie (for the gentlemen attending the party) and purse, which ended up being sunglasses and egg/rectangle cutters respectively.  I just adore the purses and birthday cake, I do really like zebra print. Maybe it's the life long love of horses?

Ethan aka super E!

My baby is turning one on Friday, and it's bittersweet.  I love to watch them grow but I remember the sleepless nights and it makes me sad. No not because he took the longest to sleep through the night and I was pretty sure I was going to loose my mind.  But each night that I sat holding and feeding him in the quiet night I know I will never get back.  I would rub my face on his soft hair, knowing it was a special time that I had all to myself.  Okay okay I'm sad now and that's not what parties are about! We held Ethan's first birthday here in Florida at grandma and grandpa's and it was great!  Lots of family and friends that normally we are too far away from us to celebrate with. It was a real treat. 

 Oh, and I made cookies =)

Ten years!

These cookies are for a wonderful salon and boutique in Sarasota Florida celebrating their ten year anniversary.  I really love how they turned out and heaven knows I love pink. A color I sadly don't get to use much with three boys, so this was a real treat.  I think the scissors are my favorites...not sure why but they crack me up =)  Congratulations Marmalade!

Off to college

My cousin Sean is off to college, I remember moving into my apartment like it was yesterday.  Good luck Sean!

Now a quick note about the cookies I made for him.  I made these and finished them the day before we moved out of the old house.  I was also finishing a huge platter at the same time....why do I do these things to myself? I just love how these turned out and give more time I would have added his name to the caps and year to the diplomas. But all and all for a rush there where great.  I really can't wait to be in the new house...........3 months and counting =)
